Telangana (Hyderabad) is rapidly becoming an EV hub with Tata Motors' EV plant and multiple charging network operators. The state targets 10% EV penetration in 2-wheelers by 2027.
Delhi offers the highest EV subsidy in India for two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Delhi's EV Policy provides up to ₹30,000 subsidy on electric two-wheelers and up to ₹1.5 lakh on four-wheelers for the first 1,000 buyers. Additionally, Delhi provides 100% road tax waiver and registration fee exemption, making it the most generous EV incentive package in India.
FAME-II ended in March 2024. The central government launched the PM E-DRIVE scheme in 2024 with ₹10,900 crore allocated for EV incentives, charging infrastructure and e-buses. Under PM E-DRIVE, subsidies of up to ₹10,000 for two-wheelers and ₹25,000 for three-wheelers are expected. Four-wheeler subsidy details are awaited.

Yes. Section 80EEB of the Income Tax Act allows individual taxpayers to claim up to ₹1.5 lakh per year as deduction on interest paid on EV loans. This is available only for loans sanctioned between April 2019 and March 2025 (extended). Additionally, there is no GST charged on EV charging services, and EV manufacturers benefit from 5% GST vs 28%+ on petrol vehicles.
