The Mercedes-Benz G580 with EQ Technology marks a historic milestone for the legendary G-Class, bringing an all-electric powertrain to the iconic off-roader. Launched in India in its exclusive 'Edition 1' guise, the electric G-Wagon retains its classic boxy silhouette, body-on-frame construction, and rugged appeal while integrating cutting-edge electric vehicle technology.

Powering the G580 EQ is a massive 116 kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with four individually controlled electric motors—one at each wheel. This quad-motor setup generates a combined 587 bhp and a staggering 1164 Nm of torque, enabling unique off-road maneuvers like the 'G-Turn' (tank turn) and 'G-Steering'. It offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 473 km on a single charge.

Inside, the G580 EQ blends luxury with advanced technology, featuring dual 12.3-inch screens running the latest MBUX infotainment system, temperature-controlled cup holders, and a Burmester 3D surround sound system. It supports up to 200 kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to juice up from 10% to 80% in just 32 minutes.
